Hong Kong has a long cricket history dating back to British colonial times. The Hong Kong Cricket Club, founded in 1851, is one of the oldest in Asia. Cricket in Hong Kong has been sustained by both the local population and a large expatriate community. Hong Kong achieved T20I status and qualified for the 2014 T20 World Cup.
